it may be that
i will lose my hair
my teeth
and the
ability to move without
pain or help
it may be that
the faces of my children
become blurred and forgettable
unknown to me
the people i have tried to love
or tried to hate
but Oh Allah
allow me to have
a gummy smile
for no reason
and to say
"Thank you!"
again and again
and again
